Synopsis

Eve did not find a stable job after graduation and lived in London with her girlfriend Monkey. Intimacy is constantly tested at the road fork of life, so the tenderness in love is gradually disillusioned. After a film casting, Eve finally knows that Monkey can't understand her. The silent relationship eventually breaks up, She can't find the meaning of staying in London and then falls into a state of emptiness and boredom.

During this period, Dex meets Eve in the street. They have a sense of meditative attraction with each other. After Eve's relationship breaks up, they live a life that does not consider tomorrow's meaning.

Director’s bio

Rui Qian, a young director and image art enthusiast. She graduated from the University of the Arts London, majoring in film. Her works have been selected by the Asian Film Festival, Beijing College Film Festival, For Mother Film Festival, etc. She is specialized in narrative works. He specializes in feature film, focusing on social reality and emotional expression stories.

Chunqing Meng, image artist, director, photographer and writer. He was selected for the 8th Exhibition for Nominated Young Artist in Asia, Wild Youth Art Festival, GUYU Art Festival, Macau International Movie Festival, etc. He was awarded the Best Feature Film at the 14th Shenzhen Youth Image Festival.

His novel won the 7th Global Youth Chinese Literary Award, the 3rd <Literature For Children> JINJIN Award.

Director‘s statement

We thought, “There is a footless bird in the world that can only land once in a lifetime”. So, we wanted to create an island worth landing on.

This story is about an imperfect love story, but an attempt at liquid emotions. With a limited budget and equipment, this story presents the kind of uncertainty, incompleteness, and even asymmetry of reality, like an unfinished flight journey. Because of this, it is closer to life, which is ambiguity and constantly creating possibilities. There are no answers to the story of Eve because the meaning of the flight of the footless bird is just itself. The film is flawed, but it has a sense of frank authenticity.
